I'm am not going to call you out and call you a "druggy" or what ever, but I am not going to sugar coat a line of BS either.

Look you abused prescription drugs. Deal with that issue and don't make excuses for it. Don't lie about it. I can't stand a liar more than I can't stand a drug abuser....there is help for drugs, and no help for lies.

You can not remove documents from you civilian medical record. It is not yours...you have a right to see the information in it, but it belongs to the medical clinic. Just like when if you join, the medical record will belong to the government. It is not yours to do with what you want.

You can get a lawyer and dispute the information in it. But make sure you aren't just trying to cover it up...because that won't do anyone good and it will make you look like a fool.

I was a Navy Corpsman. I prided myself on the trust the Navy gave me as a custodian of various medications, and some were narcotic. I never was tempted to abuse them. I was proud of that trust.

It is about trust and honor. How can you lie and then want to be trusted?

You may get a drug waiver to join the Navy. It will be harder to get a waiver for the Corpsman rate. Some states won't even let you work in the medical field with a drug waiver..you can't get licensed or certified if you have a drug conviction.

You need to take care of your business before you try to get into the Navy and be a Corpsman. You need to be trustworthy...and you can't do that by lying...even a small lie is a lie.

My suggestion is for you to go in to see your Navy recruiter, and sit down with him, and tell him what the deal is, starting from the start of the whole deal. No NOT lie to him about anything. He cannot help you if you lie to him, because, sooner or later, what goes around, comes around. Once he knows and understands what your issues are, he will advise you whether or not he'll be able to do anything for you. You may have to have a medical consult, a waiver, wait a period of time, get an affidavit, etc. in order to fullfill the requirements to qualify. The recruiter can be, and will be your best ally in getting you where you want to go, but you have to be honest with him/her.

Good luck to you...

The military is all about integrity. If you lie to get in and they find out you will be screwed. Be honest and take reponsibility for your actions, and let them decide whether or not you should join. Don't lie just to get your way
